Frequently Asked Questions
Why was this organization formed?
Over the past six years, our programs have been graciously hosted by our former fiscal agents The Nature Conservancy and the Conservation Coalition of Oklahoma. During that time, our programming grew substantially. By forming an independent non-profit, we are able to create the needed infrastructure to further fund and grow our mission.
What is the mission?
Our mission is to support statewide efforts to create and protect habitat
for monarchs and pollinators in Oklahoma. Learn more about our vision and core values.
Does this organization replace Okies for Monarchs?
Absolutely not. Okies for Monarchs is one of our shining star programs. We will continue to champion and support its volunteers and activities.
Who benefits from the Monarch license plate?
The monarch license plate was originally launched by The Nature Conservancy to generate revenue to support our programs. Beginning in November 2024, we will become the direct benefactor.

We certainly are! In February 2024, we were approved by the IRS as an official 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Our EIN number is 93-4955980 and donations are tax-deductible.
